For many years, Dr. Markus Janko practised as an employment-law attorney in the Hamburg office of the international law firm White & Case, before he moved to Kliemt & Vollstädt from 1 August 2009. Before practising as an attorney, Dr. Janko spent several years as an academic research assistant under Prof. Dr. Roland Schwarze, whose department specialises in employment law. His work at the University of Hannover was followed by a period of research at the University of Cambridge in England.

Dr. Janko advises and represents companies and executive personnel in all fields of employment law. In addition to litigation at all instances throughout Germany and drafting contracts, his main practice areas are employment-law advice on reorganisations (including employment-law advice in connection with cross-border mergers and on the foundation of a European Company. Markus Janko has particular expertise in insolvency employment law, including employment-law advice for well-known insolvency administrators in big insolvency proceedings and for companies on corporate acquisition strategies in connection with insolvent enterprises.
